[Here is my recent lesson on the evening of May 4, 2014 that was presented to the Church of Christ on Dean Road in Jacksonville, FL.]
In this decade long study of English translations of the Bible, my objective was to honestly fairly represent the English translations while asking some challenging questions. This article does encourage a specific type of translation, but my intent and conclusion did not result in recommending only one translation. The reason for this is presented within these slides. Some of the notes are lacking my impute especially for translation history, but these notes should suffice. While using multiple sources and my own findings, this study was heavily influenced by Leland Ryken’s book, “The Word of God in English”. May God bless you as you study these notes.
