Did Jesus rise on the sabbath or the first day of the week?
“Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons” (Mark 16:9).
“Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning,they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared” (Luke 24:1).
“The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again” (Luke 24:7).
“[T]oday is the third day since these things happened. Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive” (Luke 24:21–23).
“Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, ‘Peace be with you’” (John 20:19).
Seeing God's Breath 
Actually IT DOES NOT SAY that He rose on the first day of the week. It does say , however, that when they went to the tomb on the first day of the week, it was already empty.

Me again, lol!! :-D… So, my qestion is why didnt you use the resurrection account of John? Just a question…

Or Matthew? Yet, I did use John in reference to the day of resurrection.
I thought these passages made the point clearly. John and Matthew offer nothing to the contrary.

Matthew 28:1-6 is good, and so is John 20:1-2 showing that in the shadow and darkness of faint light of the new day, Jesus rose.

Days were counted from sunset to sunset, not 12:00 midnight. Jesus was resurrected “st the end of the sabbath as it was dawning toward the first day of the week,” Jesus was resurrected Saturday about 5:00, in the afternoon as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,” When the women went to visit the tomb, Jesus was already “risen,” being Saturday night. Plus, Jesus said He would be “in the tomb three days AND three nights,” from Friday to Sunday morning is not three days and three nights.

I always thought “dawn” was in the morning not the evening.
