The Bible is approached unlike any other books in all of history. The simple premises supporting the origin of the New Testament are that it exists, it existed since before our grandfathers’ grandfathers, and the New Testament came into existence some way some how at some specific time. The New Testament claims authorship by God via named Apostles and prophets who followed Jesus of Nazareth. It is to these named Apostles and prophets and to their character that prejudice is applied.

Names attributed to written works are universally admitted to be rational and conclusive evidence of authorship and can only be judged contrary by evidence. Yet in the case of the Bible, this respect is not applied. See, men feel it necessary to criticize the Bible more harshly since it does prick their consciences. Men conjecture, speculate, and then accuse the authors of the New Testament of being frauds impersonating the Apostles and prophets. Why approach any writing accusing them of fraud based on speculation and without any premise? The clear answer is that they are prejudice. This prejudice disqualifies skeptics from examining fairly and impartially and judging simply upon the merits of evidence. For the authors of the New Testament to be frauds, then the originators must have conspired together to lie, which this is a complete contradiction to the morals of the faith that they would have supposedly made up. This again leaves the opponent of the New Testament without grounds to criticize the New Testament. The opponent can only reply with slander, reviling, and defamation of the New Testament authors and all from bigotry.

Such men make themselves enemies of New Testament Christianity when they forgo any witnesses. All primitive Christians universally received the New Testament writings. Not even the early opponents and apostates questioned the New Testament collection or authors. Such opponents and allies as Celsus, Trypho, Lucian, Porphyry, Hierocles, Julian and Peregrinus do not contradict the names of the authors of the New Testament. All the writers of the New Testament were are continue to be subject to be tested by historians, archeologists, geographers, philosophers, and statesmen of the authors’ time until now. Yet in all of antiquity, there is not a hint of contradictory testimony against the named writers of the Bible from any pagan, Jew, or apostate. These opponents could have and yet did not contradict the miracles that Jesus did or His resurrection. Today’s skeptics’ ally, Celsus, even confessed the miracles. Opponents and the defenders of the Bible would be well served by reading the words of the earliest opponents, so that no one makes these early opponents advocates against them.

Look at the bias of skeptics, atheists, and agnostics. Skeptics of the New Testament do not listen to the claims of believers. Then on the contrary, they contradict themselves leaving the only option to hear a skeptic confess Jesus’ miracles and resurrection. What if a skeptic did affirm the miracles and resurrection of Jesus? If a skeptic did this, would he not be numbered with the believers? This again is a convenient position for the opponent of the New Testament faith who would not honestly consider a convert from their own thinking. Almost half of the New Testament is written by a hostile witness, the persecuting Saul turned believer. Jesus’ apostles were also skeptics of the resurrection, who then believed based on evidence. There were a number of witnesses such as Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, who are still notable witnesses having been converted from unbelief.  Add to these the 3000 on Pentecost and 5000 at Solomon’s Portico who believed the witnesses of the Apostles. Such notable witnesses whose existence and testimony have never been contradicted by any opponents of antiquity nor recognized by skeptics today.

Those approaching the Bible looking for faults do so prejudging the Book. The whole of the skeptics methods is to cause doubt by speculation and conjecture. The practice of opponents is to defame comes from being prejudice bigots.
