This book is excellent to use to dig into those corners of your life that you have left untouched by Holy Scripture and the Holy Spirit. Jerry Bridges has given us in this book some thoughts to ponder about how deep our seeking of holiness really goes. I would highly recommend this book for any Christian wishing to live more obedient to the Word and their Lord Jesus Christ.

Hannah Whitall Smith was the wife of Robert Smith who owned a small newspaper called The Christian’s Pathway to Power. Mr. Smith’s ministry increased and he had trouble filling his newspaper with articles so he asked his wife to write for it. She reluctantly agreed. When her articles became even more popular than those that Mr. Smith had written, he asked her to write more. She reluctantly agreed again. Soon a publisher asked her to collate the articles into a book and it was published in 1875 and became a huge success both in America and England. Over the last hundred years it has become a Christian classic and has sold into the millions. Regarding her writing she stated, “Regardless of how we feel, be faithful and do what is right, and God will do the rest.”
