Christian Response Bibliography to

“The Da Vinci Code” book and movie.

BOOKS

The Da Vinci Deception, by Erwin W. Lutzer, Tyndale House Publishers

A very good basic book in easy to read style by well-known Bible-based pastor Erwin Lutzer. Covers basic information and scriptural response to heresy contained and promoted by “The Da Vinci Code” book and movie.

Cracking Da Vinci’s Code, by James L. Garlow & Peter Jones, Victor

A longer read than other books on the topic and a little more detailed by major theologians of our day.

The Da Vinci Deception, By Mark Shea, Edward Sri, S.T.D. & the Editors of Catholic Exchange, Ascension Press

Covers 100 questions about the facts and fiction of “The Da Vinci Code.” Written in a conversation style while covering the 100 questions.

The Da Vinci Hoax, Exposing the Errors in the Da Vinci Code, By Carl E. Olson & Sandra Miesel, Ignatius

Best book I’ve read on this issue. Highly detailed and very technical but probably the best, most accurate book you could read in response to every detail of “The Da Vinci Code” and its false history, inaccurate artistic facts, false claims against Christianity and Dan Brown’s promotion of goddess worship and Gnostic beliefs.

Breaking the Da Vinci Code, by Darrell L. Bock, Thomas Nelson Publishers

The Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction?, By Hank Hanegraaff & Paul L. Maier, Tyndale House Publishers

The Truth Behind the Da Vinci Code, Richard Abanes, Harvest House Publishers

Does ‘The Da Vinci Code’ Crack Leonardo?, Bruce Boucher

The Gospel Code, Ben Witherington III, Intervarsity Press

DVDs

The Da Vinci Code Deception

Featuring interviews with Erwin Lutzer (author of “The Da Vinci Deception), Darrell Bock (author of “Breaking the Da Vinci Code), James Garlow & Peter Jones (authors of “Cracking Da Vinci’s Code”), Sandra Miesel (Co-author of “The Da Vinci Hoax), Pastor Chuck Missler and others, Grizzly Adams Productions Well done 120 minute DVD with extra features of extra interviews with those sharing in the main DVD presentation.

Redeeming the Da Vinci Code: Decoding the Truth

It is hosted and narrated by Kerby Anderson, National Director for Probe Ministries and frequent host of the Point of View radio program. It features interviews with Darrell Bock, Ph.D., Professor of New Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary and author of the book, Breaking The Da Vinci Code, and John Hannah, Ph.D., Professor of Historical Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. This DVD focuses on five major assertions raised by the characters in Dan Brown's novel. Comes with Facilitator guide, Student Guide, Know the Truth Evangelistic Tracts, The Quest for Answers by Josh McDowell and Pocket Guides to Redeeming the Da Vinci Code. Good for small group fellowship meetings. It is 60 minutes in length and with the student guides, tracts and pocket guides this should be good for a small group. Basic plan of this package is to turn the “event” of the movie into a witnessing opportunity for people to share their faith and also to enable Christians to defend the gospel.
