“To Him All the Prophets Witness” – Part 2

Reading the words of Christ 700 years before He was born is amazing, and then reading Yahweh speaking of God and the Spirit sending Him is tenfold astounding. In Isaiah 48, God said that God and His Spirit had sent Him. See, Christ said,

“’Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit Have sent Me.’ Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:” I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go” (Isa. 48:16-17).

Jesus had been speaking throughout Isaiah. Therefore, Christ is God come in the flesh. In Isaiah 48:12 and 13, Christ said,

“I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last. Indeed My hand laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens” (cf. 42:1-9).

Search the holy books of other religions and you will never find words like this. With copies of Isaiah from the 2nd c. Dead Sea Scrolls and the 4th c. origin of the Greek Old Testament (LXX), there is no doubt that these words were preexisting to Jesus’ coming and the eyewitness records of Christ found in the Christian Scriptures.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6, cf. 7).

Are the words of Jesus and His Apostles worth our attention and honest consideration? I would urge to consider that Jesus is worth giving your life. Isaiah wrote,

“Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea” (48:18).
